blue print owners and collins interiors designers, cynthia collins & lucy ward (and plenty of their best pals) embraced their inner “betty” & “peggy” while the gentlemen channeled their very best “don draper” at a recent dallas birthday soiree. needless to say, the guests emulated the mad-men style spot-on with martinis, manhattans, old-fashioneds, cigarettes, chubby checker, suits, pearls, pumps, pillbox hats and bouffants…and we mean a lot of bouffants!
we are mad about the mad men series and even madder about the 1960′s decor and accessories we see on set every sunday. this season, we kept spying glimpses of our favorite vintage glass bottles & decanters around the draper manhattan apartment. these retro bottles have fantastic tall and slender silhouettes with repeat patterns that create super groovy textures, shapes and lines in the colored glass. we are loving nothing more than to help these mid-century bottles make such a successful come-back. you’ll notice we use them in multiples quite frequently around the shop to add height and color to many of our tablescapes. if don approves, well, so do we!
