don’t we all have one of these projects in the works?  thought we’d let you in on this handy little cheat sheet (thanks honey & fitz).  keep in mind, these are just round-about figures.  be sure to consult your upholsterer for exact measurements.  furniture shapes and intricacies can vary quite a bit from piece to piece.  most importantly, when choosing those large playful designs, the repeat measurements of a fabric’s pattern will determine your yardage needs.

{bonus tip}  when we upholster our furniture in solid fabrics, we usually choose a contrasting flange or cording (the “piping” that runs the edges and seams of furniture) to show it some extra love.  when a piece has unique lines, we want to show them off.  running a contrast color along those edges can really make all the difference.

The top image would make a great poster in its own right. There’s something vaguely comic about the furniture pieces.
