well friends…she does it all! leader of the pack, cynthia collins, is featured today as a guest blogger on interior canvas. click here and read her tell-all tricks when it comes to trims. she has zeroed in on the details and she’s sharing her secrets!

three cheers for cynthia! you’ve done it again. every year she just keeps getting better. we are so proud of our leading lady!

our friends at peacock alley & the collins interiors gals put their talents together late last week to create a lovely apartment for a displaced dallas mother and her children. every. single. item. was donated. they crafted, painted, sewed, reupholstered, rewired, and revamped all in the name of dwell with dignity. dwd is a non-profit dedicated to helping families escape poverty through design — one household at a time. we are huge believers that your surroundings can set the tone for success. big pat on the back girls! we know this dallas family is proud to call this their new home.

the collins interiors & blue crews joined forces yesterday afternoon to show our love to the austin street center homeless community. gloves were on, lines were long and the plates were hot. we are pleased to say we provided a warm lunch on a chilly february day to over 150 of our dallas displaced men and women. a simple meal came with too many smiles to count and endless thank yous — it just doesn’t get much better than that. spending such a small part of our day helping others only made the space inside our hearts grow even larger.
our hearts are big today as we remember our new friends at austin street. as always, the gift came back to us tenfold. happy heart day, friends!

blue print owners, cynthia collins & lucy ward, made a whirlwind trip to paris last weekend. literally, whirlwind — the designers were there for just 48hrs. not only were they buying for the store, they celebrated a very special sweet 16th birthday. peyton ward, lucy’s oldest angel baby, turned the big 1-6 and celebrated big-time in the city of lights {& love}.
it was a mad dash around the city — the llouvre, musée de l’orangerie, crepes, café au laits, & even an eiffel tower light show — then our most favorite part of all — the antique market. we hear new commodes, louis XVI dining chairs, bergeres, an original jansen coffee table (wowzie), parisian lucite coffee tables & side tables, new china sets & antique bar carts are headed our way. sounds like this speedy trip was well worth it!
happy birthday peyton! 16 in paris. doesn’t get much better than that. remember it always.

before the thanksgiving holiday, our collins interiors gals waved their wands, yet again, in pittsburgh, pennsylvania (of all places!). the team worked late hours to get their client’s home in tip-top-shape before the family arrived back in town for turkey day. a house full of boys and 3 puppy dogs later, this family was happy to get settled back into their picture-perfect newly remodeled home. that’s ‘jack’ pictured above getting cozy in his new digs {that white leather sofa with contrast pipe makes us melt!}.
after work, came play! cynthia, laura {we call her birnie} and caroline toured frank lloyd wright’s “falling water,” an architectural master piece hidden deep inside the rural pennsylvania hills. a major treat for these design lovers!
to top it off, jim bregenser, the contractor on their pittsburgh project, and his lovely wife, sally, showed the girls around steel-city in the utmost of style — rolls royce style that is! they celebrated the project’s completion with a sky-high dinner overlooking the pittsburgh city lights. a big thanks to jim and sally for hosting our team — the girls came home raving about their fancy dinner date!
